Just a short ride from Whitby, at the bottom of a cliff, I found this weird little shanty town of fishermen's huts. I'd heard tell of it before, and was intrigued to see it for myself. With my birthday off work and a new motorbike to run-in, I took the opportunity to ride downa and check it out.

It's an eerie place, with a Hills Have Eyes kind of vibe to it. The clonking of handmade wooden wind chimes and flapping of makeshift flags only add to the feeling that you're about to be murdered, especially when you're on your own... which you will be, because getting to it isn't for the faint of heart, or the weak of knees. At least not after several days of heavy rain.

Thankfully, there is a rope to help you negotiate the muddy land-slide down the cliff to the shore below. I was absolutely covered in mud by the time I got down to the bottom, but it was absolutely worth it.
