Photograph of Mont Blanc by Alex Nichol

Mont Blanc

The second leg of my motorcycle tour across Europe brought me to Chamonix a busy little ski resort at the foot of Mont Blanc.

These photographs were taken from the top of Aiguille du Midi (Needle of the Mid-day - so called due to it's sundial-like peak), the highest mountain peak in the world that is accessible by cable car.

It was an incredible (and for me, quite disorientating) experience, making the 3,842m climb from Chamonix to the top in less than 20 mins. I was quite dizzy for about half an hour, due to altitude sickness.

These photographs were taken with my Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and the extraordinary Canon 35 mm f/1.4 L II USM .
