Verzasca Dam

Just North of the Swisstalian border, I stopped off to marvel at the Verzasca Dam (also known as the Contra Dam), a curved concrete monstrosity made famous by the 1995 James Bond movie GoldenEye, and now a Mecca for bungee jumpers all over the World.

It's a dramatic piece of engineering, plunging 220m from Lago di Vogorno into the valley below, where Lago di Maggiore lies some 1.2 miles downstream. I'm not great with heights, so just standing next to the bungee platform made my head spin.
