Il Dito
Italy
We came upon the Il Dito sculpture quite by accident, hidden away in Piazza degli Affari in front of the Milan stock exchange. Nobody knows exactly what it means. Its creator, Maurizio Cattelan, never explained it, but it is widely believed to have been a protest against various institutions after the 2008 financial crisis.
Its actual title is L.O.V.E - Libertà , Odio, Vendetta, Eternità - which translates to Freedom, Hatred, Revenge, Eternity, but has been nicknamed "Il Dito" (Italian for 'the finger'). It was originally created as part of an exhibition at The Royal Palace of Milan, and was made a permanent fixture when the exhibition came to an end.
These photographs were taken with the Sony A7R V and the incredible Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 GM, and not forgoetting my trusty Kase Wolverine circular polariser.
