Photograph of Aegina Island by Alex Nichol

Aegina Island

Whilst spending the week in the Greek capital of Athens, we decided to give ourselves a break from the bustling mainland and head to the neighbouring island of Aegina. Catching a ferry was fairly straight forward.

We didn't have long to spend on the island, due to the tight sailing schedule, but we did find time to hire a couple of bicycles and ride the coast road up to Marathonas Beach, past the ancient olive groves.
